Our History

The Boonah Gliding Club was originally the Beaudesert Gliding Club. It was formed in 1966 in Beaudesert, Queensland.  The first airfield site was at Gleneagle and the first aircraft was a Kookaburra.  The Club continued to grow, moving to Hardie's Field.  The membership and fleet expanded over the next 17 years.  Then in 1983 disaster struck when the Club lost it's field. A new home was found at the Boonah Airfield and by June 1984 the Club was once again operational with the new name of Boonah Gliding Club.  Unfortunately, much of our history has been lost over the years, but we would be happy to hear from anyone with photos or memories to share on the website.
