We need the broad support of our membership to be able to do this. The project is to standardise the gliding experience between Clubs and to promote our sport, to encourage participation and to arrest the decline in membership seen throughout Australia. There is ongoing funding available from GFA to be able to meet the standards expected for S2F e.g. for Club facilities, Glider refits, electronic booking and flight logging and much more. Clubs in the First Phase saw a 18% increase in membership. Individual members will not be inconvenienced at all by S2F but will hopefully have a more vibrant Club with better facilities.
Boonah Gliding Club meets most of the standard already, certainly for Phase 1 and 2, and will need to do relatively little to be involved and reap the benefits.
