The weather forecast for the weekend would have had us all believing in all day flights and 9000 ft thermals. Oh well maybe next weekend. It did turn out to be very hot but it did not turn out to be a weekend for long flights with only a few flight times in excess of one hour recorded. With all of our aircraft operational and our own tug back in the air it was an enjoyable time to go gliding if not a memorable one.Pictured here are two rare sail planes both of them now flying out of Boonah and owned privately by Boonah members A Grunau baby2 built in Germany in 1944 and a Carman m200 built in France and at only 40 years old is fairly new by comparison. With a soon to be flying Duo Discuss we will have a fantastic variety of glider types on our field, from the very old to the very new and most stages of development in between. We now have a new “new members kit” and we have one new member Alex Paull, who is the first recipient of the new kit. Alex is the son of existing member Tony Paull.
