Sunday October 19 2008..60 years later and still “flying the Friendly way” Today Bryan O’Toole celebrated the 60th anniversary of his first solo flight with a solo flight in GSK13 after 45 minutes of lift near the hill he finished it off with a perfectly executed landing with the whole gallery watching. As usual in the best of club spirit Bryan was one of the first to arrive and the last to leave. He brought along his log book full of many interesting entries and photos to share with anyone lucky enough to get 10 minutes with him during the day. A record of a career including being a teenager flying Tiger Moths to a Captain with TAA. Congratulations Captain O’Toole....For the rest of us it was a good day of fine weather and moderate lift but for the very skillful John Feeney it was 7000ft
Our thanks to Dave Donald for instructing, Gary Chaplin duty Pilot, Tony Sorenson tug pilot and Nigel Arnot AEF instructor a great and much appreciated job while also enjoying their day at Boonah.
