An early fog eventually cleared to a warm humid day but not much lift. First flight got away at 9:55 and we managed to get in 24 launches before a very early spring thunder storm put a quick stop to the day at 15:30.
There were 4 gliders on the strip all having landed ahead of the storm and all put away with the hangar doors closed 20 minutes later just as the rains begun. A very quick and efficient operation.
Longest flight of the day: 1 hr 45 minutes Barry Cook on a day with limited lift. Shortest flight of the day: 3 minutes Ken Window after a simulated cable break.
The K13 had a constant queue of students and instructors waiting for it. The need for the other 2 seat trainer the Blanik was evident. Hurry home GWH we miss you. Thanks to Nev Donald for 24 tows, Cliff Hitch and Brian Gilby for a full working day of instructing with John Stockwell also helping out and duty pilot Gavin Foster.
