Boonah Blog
Weekend 26-27 February 2011
This weekend the weather looked good the humidity of the last few weekends was gone but conditions didnt live up to expectations and were said to be challenging in the middle of the day. Many pilots got flushed back to the airfield for a restart later. An afternoon storm crossed Boonah on Saturday but only hit at 5pm when most pilots were back on the ground.
On Sunday the autotow was out and was used until midday. Dave Donald managed to thermal up from a 1200ft tow to thermal with me to cloudbase at 4000feet. For me it was good practice for the Easter Comp flying in close proximity to another glider.
