Winter gliding

Altocumulus standing lenticularis or more commonly known as “lennies” or lenticular are the clouds that give us wave lift and are the clouds responsible for gliding records of height and distance.  Photo taken Saturday afternoon on Boonah strip of lenticular behind mount French

These clouds did not re-appear on the Sunday however in what appeared to be an over developed day there were thermals everywhere and 10 knots was not hard to find.  The forecast this coming weekend is for more clear cold nights and warming days. A good time to be gliding at Boonah.
